Celebrities Who Wear Wigs

gwen stefani hair wigsIf you are thinking of bleaching your hair despite the red flags presented by many experts, just because Gwen Stefani’s hair looks silky smooth, healthy and natural, stop! Before making an impulsive decision about one of the most important parts of your body that defines your look, style and flair, it is good to familiarize yourself with the outcome of bleaching your hair. Hair bleaching results: dull hair, split ends, unhealthy and unnatural looking hair… and lots and lots of hair damage.

Celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Gwen Stefani popularized the platinum blond look, however, it is imperative to note that platinum or bleach blond hair is one of the most damaging hair styles. The science behind the negative effects of bleaching is obvious; the powerful chemicals penetrate the cuticles of your hair and thus, damage it, inside-out. So why are celebrities willing to take the risk? The answer is they just don’t. The beautiful women of Hollywood know better than to damage one of their main attractions and thus, resort to wearing wigs.

There are many famous women, such as Christina Aguilera who have suffered from serious hair loss disorders and have resorted to wearing the wigs to maintain their glamorous image and popularity. Christina Aguilera actually had bald patches on her scalp, a condition called traction alopecia due to the usage of dyes and extensions. The condition was covered up with a gorgeous black mane—which was of course, a wig.

Women, even the famous ones, suffer from all kinds of hair loss, despite the expensive products they use. Statistics show that about half of the female population will experience severe hair thinning. Even though bald patches and baldness is a less common condition, it can happen to anyone. Women of Hollywood however, have their own tricks up their sleeves, what seems to be a change of hairstyle, might be a change of hair, you never know. For example, American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez likes to wear a variety of wigs instead of her real hair in the show. Hair wigs have become vital pieces of hair accessories for female celebrities as they make them look glamorous, beautiful and young.
